I have decided to make a batch of Chile Verde this weekend, and thought I might search out some roasted peppers.
I haven't noticed the roasters outside of any of the groceries here in Phoenix lately. Does anyone know when the season is for fresh chiles? I would be interested in Hatch chile's in particular, but any fresh roasted would work for me.
A related question: since I probably won't be able to get fresh, I will probably go with frozen. I have heard Josie's brand are good. Does anyone have any preferences for any other branch of frozen chiles? I will head to Food City, but I would bet that the freezer is loaded with different brands of chiles, and I would like to get a game plan together before confronted so many choices.
Since this is the primary ingredient in my meal, I want to make sure I use the best.
