Chikubu -- eel day

Buddha44 | Jul 28, 2005 02:57 AM

Once a year in mid summer (when it is the most humid) on ushi no hi, it is a tradition in Japan to eat una-ju or an eel bowl.

Chikubu, on 44h near Madison (there may be others as well) is serving an eel bowl for only $4.50 for lunch, which includes beer, but only today (thursday). Since the normal price there is around $18 (although I don't know if the portions are the same size), it's a pretty good deal.
