Looking for a Cheese Shop--Northwest Side/Near Northwest and North Suburbs?

john m | Oct 6, 2003 12:32 PM

I first logged on to Chowhound when I moved to Edison Park, and was seeking a good butcher. Someone recommended Morningfields in Park Ridge, and I have been a happy and regular customer since.

What I'm looking for now is a good cheese shop. I occasionally go to the Whole Foods in Deerfield, which is good--not great. Ideally, I'm looking for a specialist, not a supermarket that has a decent cheese selection (like Whole Foods). Anywhere on the northwest side, or in any of the near northwest and north suburbs would be fine.

(If it helps, I like virtually all kinds of cheese, but have a particular affinity for sharp, crumbly English cheeses and for all blue cheeses.)
