Finally ventured to Chateaubriand (N Carrollton Ave). Lovely service, nice wine selection by the glass and half-bottle, as well as interesting specials. One appetizer special, a housemade charcuterie plate (pate, headcheese, etc), and a nice cheese plate as well. Beef was excellent, cooked perfectly, sauced nicely. The place is quite large, but divided into smaller, more cozy spaces.
One weird thing: what's with the table for two in the glassed-in area? On this particular night, the patrons at said table were dressed very casually (wearing jeans & ts), so it was a bit odd...everyone else in the place was Friday-night upscale: the glassed-in effect made them seem like a museum exhibit on "what not to wear". Is it a smoking/cigar room or what?
