Charlie's Steak House

Hit this 70 yr old institution last nite for the first time in a long time. Isn't it great some things never change?

Still no menus, your waiter will tell you the only entrees: small, medium, or large T-bones, or a 9oz filet. Iceberg wedge salad with a pound of blue cheese, and onion rings and/or au gratin potatos.

$55 for two, including a glass of wine each. Waiter asked if we wanted to take some of the ample leftovers home, and, being the funny guy that I am, I said "no, but I'm taking this bottle of Worcestershire". He said "hold on," came back a moment later, and said "at least take a new one." Which he handed me. LOL

Charlie's is off Napolean, right behind Pascal's Manale... Lunch Tue-Fri, dinner, Tue-Sat. 4510 Dryades Street.

Short on ambiance, long on flavor.
