I would like to know if others have eaten beef or goat and the taste is not particularly that of beef or goat, but thin slices of quite soft not too dark meat.
I have had this experience in restaurants a very few times.
Ostrich (鸵鸟 touniao) I have had in other countries and know of the meats texture and look.
Has anyone had this experience, mystery meat that is? I actually don't mind so much, for the dishes are always prepared to be very delicious.
Perhaps the very few times this has happened the meat had been tenderized and seasoned, and hammered to death.
Baabaabaa....By the way, the best goat to date in Manhattan, so far, is at Land Of Plenty (204 58th Street
(between 2nd Ave & 3rd Ave) . The cuts are thick and portions of the skin remain.
Land of Plenty 魚米子鄉 is a Sichuan restaurant (四川餐廳) and it has a nice modern atmosphere. The staff are very nice and the owner is from Sichuan.
If you like Legends in Manhattan, you so ought to give Land of Plenty a try.
I recommend the Goat (lamb) Hot Pot (羊肉火鍋:yangrouhuoguo) or the Boiled Goat (水煮羊肉 shuizhuyangrou). The Hot Pot will offer more flavor.
I have yet to try the fish dishes, but am very curious as to whether they can contend with Legends fish dishes.
