Chai in Jackson Heights/Astoria

Sometimes all you need is a nice cup of tea. During the transit strike a few weeks ago my walking route to work passed by Kebab King Diner just off Roosevelt at 73rd St. Now their Bihari kebabs are fair to good - but the real reason to go there is to hand over 75 cents get an empty paper cup and fill it with chai from the container facing the counter. maybe its because it sits and brews over time - but this is the best chai I have tasted in New York. Always hot and strong - but never bitter. Creamy but not too milky - add 2 sugars and you are done.
The only place that comes close is Sunshine on Northern Boulevard beside King Wah's - but there you have to wait 15 minutes for it to get made.
Where else can I get good chai?
