Chai home kitchen/sake bar
124 North 6th st @ Berry st 718-599-5889

just opened last week, but they already serve the best
thai/asian food in's FAR,far better
than Sea or Planet thailand.

the food is based on thai food, but it's with emphasis
of other asian food - vietnamese, japanese, chinese- and modern twist.

these are what I had from the several vists.

soups: Tom Yum Goong - very authentic (ask thai spicy)

starters: Crispy duck spring rolls - comes w homemade
plum sauce- not greasy at all, very tasty.

Chai home style peanut dumpling - very
original, excellent dumpling.

Japanese style fried chicken - the chicken
is marinated w sake, soy sauce, ginger juice-
vrey simple yet complex flavor,SO GOOD!

fish: Pla Sam Rod - crispy red snapper w sweet&sour
chili sauce - the sweetness is just
right, the snapper is very fresh,
great dish.

meats: Chicken green/yellow curry - very good thai
curry, they make it very spicy if you ask " thai
spicy ", better than most thai restaurans curry.

Home roasted half duck tamarind - cooked w
cashew nuts & home made tamarind sauce - this
is absolutely the WINNER! very good duck, sauce
isn't so sweet, everything is just right.

Home roasted half duck pineapple curry - this
is the another WINNER!! the duck is cooked
red curry sauce w pineapple & basil, yummy!

Spicy pork chop - vietnamese style grilled pork
chop - served w nuoc cham sauce, very good.

the price range is $3~13. very reasonable.

there are so many other interesting menus that I havn't try yet.I wanna go back ASAP.

one of the main chef is young lady from thai land who used to work for Mercer she makes " Warm
chocolate cake ( Mercer kitchen's signature dessert )" !!! this is soooo cool!DON'T FORGET this
cake for dessert, it's only $5!much cheeper than M.K.

I love this's worth to trip.I'll post about the other menu.
