Has anyone else tried the desserts at this second story Japanese place on 9th St? It's 230 9th and it's absolutely amazing. It's ostensibly a tea shop but the woman who's the chef has trained in a bunch of pastry kitchens in NYC and in Japan and her desserts are a perfect blend of French and Japanese. They're very, very small and intensely sweet but things like the azuki butter and the creme brulee are really fantastic.
I sound like I'm advertising it, but I just stumbled across it last week and have gone back already. Some folks will find it too prissy, but I loved it.
