Capogiro Gelato in Center City Philly

Was in Philly for the holidays and happened upon a brand new gelato/coffee bar on 13th Street between Chestnut and Walnut called Capogiro. What a terrific find! They make their own gelato on premises and I must say, it was top notch - perhaps outranking New York's Ciao Bella. The green apple and pistachio gelatos were particular standouts. But, frankly, all of them were delicious, creamy and intensly flavored. And, to top off the gelato selection, they have decadent pastries from Miel and other local bakers. The cafe is sizable and welcoming. Bright royal blue and funky lamps give it a nice urban edge. All in all, it's an ideal spot for a civilized coffee and a sweet. Capogiro has only been open a couple of weeks, but I can already tell that it's a keeper.
