I just took adavantage of the Tuesday Night Prix Fixe deal at California Cuisine. It's worth every dollar at $19.99 and then some. The menu changes weekly.
This last Tuesday my friends and I did not have a reservation. We were greeted at the door with a smile and seated right away. We all chose to have the prix fixe menu. First course had two choices of salad, Ceasar or Mixed greans with hearts of palm. They were both good, I especially like the vinaigrette on the mixed green salad. Second course two of us had the sea bass it was cooked perfectly. Served with Isreali couscous flavored with tomatos, olives, fresh artichokes and capers. My friend thought there were too many capers, but I thought they added a nice pop of flavor. My other friend had the Nieman Ranch Pork chop, again perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. Served with mash potatos, carrots and french green beans. The sauce was truely delicious, rich, and velvety. The other entree offered was a chicken dish. Dessert course only had one option. I was disappointed about that and the size seemed very small, but it ended up being just right. Banana galette with sweetened whipped cream and a small triangle of cream cheese cake.
Our server was attentive and witty. Enjoyed his attitude and personality. Both he and the woman that greeted us at the door thanked us for coming and asked if we would be back. Of course the answer was a resounding YES.
I'm surprised the place was not booked. Hurry before the word gets out. It's a great deal!!
