So my new husband and I haven't been to Caffe Boa together and collectively we haven't been in over 10 years.
He called yesterday to make reservations for tonight and was told by the girl on the phone that he needed a credit card to reserve. He gave her the credit card number, hung up and looked at me. I told him to call back and ask the manager why they needed his credit card to reserve a table on a Friday night (since the girl taking the reservation didn't explain this).
So apparently - if you are a no show - they will charge you $50.
Don't know about you - but this is the first time I have heard of a restaurant requiring a credit card for reservations.
The only explaination I can think of is that is in on Mill Avenue and maybe lots of college students don't bother to call and cancel?
Can't say that this is a great business practice. We almost cancelled out of principle and went to House of Tricks but my husband really wanted to try Caffe Boa again.
