Had a delightful dinner at this newish upscale (foodwise) Mexican restaurant. They seem to serve typical fare at lunch (tacos, burritos, etc.) but at dinner the emphasis is on fish, poblano peppers, steak and chicken. I started with a complimentary appetizer of tortilla chips surrounding a taquito with guacamole and white cheese garnish. Then I had the chicken with rice soup, which offered juicy chicken chunks, salsa and cilantro rice. My entree was Halibut Dorado - pan roasted Alaskan halibut served with cilanto rice and mango and pimento sauces and mango salsa.
Presentation was beautiful and service attentive. Didn't have wine tonight but they do have a wine list, though I didn't see it.
Other interesting appetizers include a chicken tamal; sauteed shrimp with tequila, chipotle and mango sauce; a ceviche of red snapper; and a shrimp quesadilla with manchago cheese, cream, avocado sauce and salsa fresca.
Most entrees are in the $13 - $14 range. My halibut was $16. White table cloths and track lighting and a pleasant atmosphere. It reminds me a bit of Palo Alto Sol (and perhaps it's related) but this was far superior.
