As leg one of today's Bastille Day celebrations (read "drinking"), we scheduled lunch at Cafe Claude to start off with tableside prep of steak tartare. To our great dismay, this specialty was sold out by 2pm.
The pate plate was average, well, maybe below average now that we're so spoiled by housemade charcuterie. The bavette frites was fine but not memorable. Of the three desserts - moelleux chocolate, tart tatin, and griotte cherry claofuti (sp?) - the chocolate one fell out, but I'd return for the other two.
Oh, the pink wine was wonderful, 2005 Domaine de Fontsainte Corbieres, $32/bottle.
