just wanted to put in a good word for the casual, mainly outdoor cafe @ blue hill @ stone barns--i had a really lovely lunch there--very true to dan barbers' alice waters-esque philosophy of utilizing the freshest locally grown/raised ingredients and just letting the flavor shine through. we enjoyed a wonderful heirloom tomato salad among other equally good choices and also a great goat cheese and tomato sandwich drizzled with this intensely flavored olive oil and a very nice blueberry cobbler for dessert. options are pretty much limited to salads and sandwiches plus a few different sweet items but everything we tried was good if not great. our tab ran to about $20 for a variety of salads, one sandwich and cobbler w/out beverages.
as an aside, there were a lot of kids enjoying the animals etc. on the grounds (we have a toddler) and the cafe was a really nice reprieve and far more affordable option than the restaurant!
