We'd like to welcome the new folks who discovered Chowhound as a result of the Boston Herald article. We're glad to have you here and are looking forward to finding about your favorite chow! Don't be shy, just jump in and start a thread, or respond to a current thread. We recommend you pick an interesting, unique nametag that will help us get to know you and your likes and dislikes. We discourage using single name first names e.g. "John" because it's very easy for us to get you confused with someone else. Make sure you check out the posting rules at ([BROKEN LINK REMOVED]). If you find yourself coming here often, you might find HotPosts ([BROKEN LINK REMOVED]) useful, which gives all the posts for the day, on one page.
Here are a few pointers to help you navigate the site better and get into the groove of things.
This board is for sussing out great chow in Boston and the immediate suburbs. The New England board ([BROKEN LINK REMOVED]) is the place to discuss the rest of Massachusetts and New England.
Besides the other regional boards, we have a few other boards that are of general interest. The Home Cooking board (http://www.chowhound.com/boards/cooki...) is the place to share recipes and cooking tips and to discuss kitchen equipment and cookware. The General Topics board (http://www.chowhound.com/boards/gener...) is for discussing foods, cuisines, mail order, chowhounding strategy, etiquette,
national chains, etc.. The Not About Food board (http://www.chowhound.com/boards/notfo...) is for discussing topics that are somewhat chow-related
but not appropriate for the other boards.
The Chowhound Team is the site's moderators... we remove personal attacks, spam, flamewars and anything else that detracts from the chow talk. We're here to talk food, and just food. We expect all posters to use our boards in a friendly and respectful manner. If you have questions, or see a post you think shou;d be removed, you can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by posting on the Site Talk board ([BROKEN LINK REMOVED]).
Enjoy the site, and eat well!
