Turns out that downtown Boise is one happening place. Who knew? (Well, of course, the good folks who live/work in Boise know!)
We ate in a lively and interesting restaurant, Fork, located in what was a former bank building. Makes for a lively noise level -- not our favorite -- but it settled down a bit by the time we were there a while. The food was delicious and inventive and the service was particularly memorable. We had to wait about half an hour, even though we had a reservation. We had a good time at the bar, chatting with the bartender, so it wasn't a poor experience.
However, as we were looking at the menu, one of the managers came over, apologized for our wait and told us they would "comp" our appetizers! Very gracious. And it made our overall bill a true bargain!
