Bo Bia @ Truc Linh in Windsor

My sister was in the neighborhood yesterday unexpectedly. We met in Windsor to get an afternoon snack at the Vietnamese restaurant on the town green, Truc Linh.

She had already ordered when I arrived. The Goi Ga (chicken salad with shredded cabbage) was just okay. I found the shreds of chicken breast too dry and the dressing too watery, though she pointed out that all together the total effect was greater than the sum of the parts.

What we both agreed was good was the Bo Bia. The three rolls, cut in half, were firmly packed (not "namby-pamby" Stephanie said) with crunchy and juicy jicama and carrot strips, egg omelet, fresh mint, and slices of Chinese sausage. The peanut sauce was decent, though I would have preferred something lighter.

She had a salty plum soda that was very nice. I was less thrilled with the young coconut drink as it tasted too much of chlorine. Still, I think the fresh lemon soda is the best beverage of the three.
