I try to try new places that I've never been to. Binh Minh Quan is one of those places, located at 338 12th st. in Oakland off of Webster.
I only got to try the pho, which was very well done, though the noodle were a little too sticky for my taste. However, looking through the menu, it seems like pho is not their specialty. They have a very extensive menu of items that I've normally not seen at your typical vietnamese restaurant with up to 150 items. Menu items include typical rice and noodle plates but also items such as
Bê Thui - roasted calf,
Chim Cút Ru Ti - Roasted Quail,
Lâu Thâp Câ'm - large combination seafood firepot,
and a whole menu section on
éch - Frog:
éch chiên bo - Frog fried with butter
éch xào lân - Curry Frog
éch xào xä ót - Frog with Lemon Grass.
Anyone else been there?
