Jim gets a thinly disguised mention in Corby Kummer's
review of Anya von Bremzen's new latin cookbook,
Fiesta, for sleuthing out a Columbian lady who sells
areapas (cornmeal and cheese flatbreads) at odd hours
(at least for some of us) in Jackson Heights.
For those of you who don't know von Bremzen's work, it
is excellent, esp. Please to the Table, featuring
recipes of the former soviet republics. Also, Corby
Kummer's web articles are worth knowing about. They
are different than his Atlantic articles, and generally
highlight new cookbooks, with several recipes. Most
chowhounds should definitely be interested in checking
it out -- see the link below.
