I have eaten there a couple of times for their lunch special and thought it was decent food, but tonight was the first time I had food from their dinner menu. We had the chicken curry and the chili fish. I started off the meal with a lychee ice - lychee juice with ice, a hint of soda water, and lychee fruit. It totally satisfied my lychee craving - having the lovely aromatic flavor of lychee without being overly sweet as some asian drinks are.
The chicken curry had chunks of chicken on the bone, potatos, lemongrass sticks and a few hot peppers in a coconut curry sauce that had more broth and fat and less coconut juice than thai curries. It was somewhere inbetween a northern thai curry and an indian curry (though I usually think these two have nothing in common).
The chili fish (we had it fried, it can be steamed) had a whole fish, fresh from their tanks, gutted and fried. It was served with an incredible tamarind chili sauce that was chock full of peppers, scallions, and assorted goodness. It had a flavor similar to a sweet and sour sauce, but not as sweet and sticky, more natural tasting, and with much more character and depth. scrumptuous.
I plan in going back there soon.
