Beef stew or turkey pot pie?

tea1970 | Sep 18, 201909:34 AM     12

We just moved to our first house and our immediate 4 neighbors are elderly couples. They have all come by when we've been working in the yard and welcomed us to the neighborhood. We aren't outgoing social types and keep to ourselves, so we don't know much about their families or finances, only that they are probably in their late 70's or more, don't seem to have many visitors, and are very thin. For Christmas this year, we want to take them a small gift basket of homemade goodies - a few cookies, a small loaf of bread, a couple cinnamon buns, things like that. But we'd like to include some small meal that they could enjoy on as well, and we're torn between a hearty beef and vegetable stew or a chicken pot pie. The stew they could heat up easily and we could put it in a mason jar. The chicken pot pie we could deliver warm in a disposable pie tin, but maybe they'll be having turkey dinner with family.

What do you think would be the better meal, or is there a third option I haven't thought of?
