Has anyone formed strong opinions about who has the best banh mi in the city? The ones they serve at NEM in Grand Central Station are nice, but they're about seven dollars, and I have a suspicion that they skimp on the schmear of pate, perhaps out of deference to American squeamishness or maybe just to be skimpy. I've also tried Pho Bang's $2.50 sandwiches in Flushing. The bread was chewier, and a thinly-sliced bologna-like substance was included in the meat mix. It was nice.
