Hi Texas CH's. Greetings from the Pennsylvania Board. I need your authorotative help.

I am coming to Austin for the first time in 2 weeks for a small conference planning committee meeting. (There will be a Sound Recording Archive in Austin next March.). We will probably be 8 people (maybe 10) fror dinner on a Friday and Saturday night. We are staying at the Radisson in town and will not have cars.

Many of us want to see some live music (Jazz, americana, blues) also. Probably after dinner. We were also hoping for a place where we might talk during dinner. So, I'd like some high recommendations to throw out to the group.

The local arrangement person - who has never met our group (a fun bunch in 35-55 range) posted some ideas which I'll list below. Any comments on these will be welcome.

I'll double use this posting for some person tourist help). I'm coming in at noon on Friday and heading direct to hotel. I have till 6pm or so and Sunday all day until a 6pm flight. If anyone has "don't mist sightseeing - and noshing - itinerary for me, let me know.(Remember I'll have no car trhough reasonable walks are fine.)I'll catch up on what I miss in March.
(I've also included my email address).

Anyway, here were the previous suggestions:

Manuel's 310 Congress $$
Iron Cactus 606 Trinity $$

Moonshine 303 Red River $$

Japanese (incl. sushi)
Kyoto 315 Congress $$$

P.F. Chang's 201 San Jacinto $$$

Thai Passion 620 Congress (entrance on 7th St.) $$

Chez Nous 510 Neches $$$
Aquarelle 606 Rio Grande $$$$

La Traviata 314 Congress $$$
Carmelo's 504 E 5th $$$$
Mezzaluna 310 Colorado $$

Iron Works 100 Red River $$

Thanks for your help!
