I just returned from Montreal.
Au Pied was FAB- top quality ingredients, great cooking,fun service. We had poutine with foie gras-really a treat, deer tongue-incredible- fresh greens, pork chop and a not to be missed tarte aux sucre. We were stuffed. Very simply surroundings, and, for a northern Californian, a wine list that was sooo expensive it sent me reeling.
Schwartz' lived up to the rep and expectation just fine. More of a dump than I expected.
Stash was very good, simply food and fair prices.
For coffee and pastry and bread, I wish I lived next door to Olive and Gourmando in the old city. Enjoy!
