Hi again, gang,
Just wondering if anyone besides me attended the ProjectByProject Food & Wine Tasting charity benefit event Saturday night (7/16), and has any feedback.......
I liked the concept behind the event, but it was so crowded that the food and wine experiences were somewhat marred. There were not enough tables to put one's plate down, and the whole idea of "holding on to your wine glass for your gift bag at the end of the night" left most people one-handed for most of the evening.
I enjoyed the food from Maison Akira (Akira-san worked super-hard that day), Blue on Blue (Avalon Hotel), Napa Valley Grille, and the dessert table with fruit, marshmallows, rice krispy treats, all to dip in a molten chocolate fountain. I saw Govind Armstrong, and spoke a bit with Sherry Yard (Spago's Pastry Chef I believe). Notables representatives included Napa Valley Grille, Meson G, Table 8, and Mako. Some great wines, too.
All in all, a fun time. I plan on dining at some new places as a result of this event. I hope ProjectByProject returns next year.
