In search of a last minute onion for the risotto I was making tonight, I stumbled upon this amazing Asian Market on 6th St just south of Washington called, (I think)First Asian Market. I went in for an onion and came out a 1/2 hour later completley enthralled. It features the most amazing stuff: every sauce imaginable, mounds of mysterious fruits and vegetables and, most amazing of all is the east wall of the store, which is made up entirely of tanks of live fish, eels, crabs and, believe it or not a tank of frogs (with a sign above that sys "Frogs are sold for food only".) How can they tell if you are just buying it for a pet.
So...if you are in the area, I strongly recommend this store, not just for those hard to find ingredients, but for the experience itself.
