Asian Diners

zim | Sep 25, 2001 11:19 AM

The post about north park university made me remember a place called Loree's that faced it. It was an old fashioned (very old fashioned) ice cream parlor and breakfast place that had been bought by a thai couple. It still featured all the ice cream fountain concoctions and such but also added some thai dishes to the menu (I ate a decent duck with red curry there).

For those of us with kids these sort of places are invaluable--Mom and Dad can get their asian food fix, kids have a destination type dessert.

Recently I had heard they had switched to an only thai menu--has anyone been recently?

There are a few others that i know of (these have the typical diner food along side asian items but don't have the ice cream parlor bonus)

Desiree Restaurant (thai)
8000 Lincoln Ave. Skokie, IL. 60077
(847) 677-1400

and the little korean place on Chicago avenue in Evanston.

Anybody have favorites in this genre?
