Arkansas Black apples

Made the best applesauce last year from these apples, deep apple flavor, not too tart, not sweet. The skin is a dark reddish black, turned the applesauce dark pink. Bought them at the Hollywood Sunday farmer's market. Looked for them all year -- last week there they were again (right around Latke time.) Grower said they only have them for one week! Saw them today in Whole Foods -- they will only be there another few weeks.

Belgian chocolate pudding from Trader Joe's... mmmm.... comfort dessert.
