Had the pleasure of visiting the town of Ardmore, Oklahoma for about 30 minutes last Saturday.
Not much to report on the town, but if you happen to also have the pleasure of visiting Ardmore, Oklahoma for about 30 minutes some day, I would recommend a stop at Hamburger Inn.
Opened somewhere around 60 years ago, their niche is the mound of stringy grilled onions on the burger. Everything is made fresh, including the shoestring fries and homey desserts (banana pudding with Nilla wafers on the day I went through).
It's desolate this time of year, but it looks like the stretch of 177 north of Ardmore must be the peach capital of Oklahoma. Every couple hundred yards there was a farm stand with a sign for peaches.
You can also visit the National Horseshoeing Tool Museum just south of Sulphur, OK. Who knew???
