Anyone have any thoughts?
I went opening night. The hummus was some of the best I've ever had. I ordered shawarma, which I did not like. My entree was cold. The soup (black bean) was good, but cold. My dinner companion's lentil soup was okay, she thought it wasn't very good. She is a long time fan of the troy location (operated by Anita; this is the kids' restaurant, I think), and claims the lentil soup was better there. The salad was awesome, but too much dressing. Overall, good food, absolutely terrible service. I'd chalk that up to just opening.
Second time I went, the service was marginally better. Again, amazing hummus. I had a shish tawook sandwich, which was unbelievable good. It was warm and filled me with goodness. I would recommend the sandwiches over the entrees. Others have experienced similar poor service. Hopefully, the kinks will be worked out soon.
I will definitely be a regular at Anita's, as long as the service improves.
