My husband and I, along with a few friends, had dinner at Angie Brown's in Mounta Airy and it was amazing! We hapened upon there because it seemed that every other restaurant in the area was booked solid, so we just found the restaurant listing on Philly.com and never heard of it, but decided to take a chance. It appeared to be in a restored row hose, the decor was beautiful with deep red walls and lots of attention to detail. The service was very friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. It is cajun/creole style. Portions were huge. The sides were amazing - collard greens, sweet potatos (made by the owners mom), red beans and rice. Desserts are also made my the owner's mom and are delicious (we had the best home made apple pie I've ever had!).
I realy wanted to recommend this restaurant because it was oddly empty for a Saturday night. It is not advertized (I had never even heard of it before) and you can barely notice it when driving by. This is an amazing local restaurant and I'd like to see it still around for years to come!
