So far this Spring/Summer, I have eaten my fair share of mangoes. From Indian Alphonso and Neelam to Mexican Ataulfo and Small kidneys to Israeli and Brazilian Haden.
However, the following posted ' Nam-Dok-Mai ' ( aka Elephant Tusk Mango by the Chinese ) from Thailand trumps them all in enjoyment! It must also be the sweetest fruit I have eaten in Canada. Right now, available in Winco and Foodie Mart at $2.99 a pound
Flesh was sweet, fragrant, super juicy and custard y-smooth without any unwelcome fiber and no hint of tanginess. The one I ate was barely ripe and still had a hint of green ( force to consume it due to imperfections on skin which started the rotting process).
I cannot wait to try the really ripe yellow one on the left!
