Anyone know where I can get me some almond paste?

NickMontreal | Nov 24, 2009 09:54 AM

Does anyone know where I can find almond paste in Montreal? NOTE: I am not talking about marzipan. Although similar, marzipan has a higher sugar content, whereas almond paste is more spreadable and is somewhat like frangipane or the filling of an almond croissant.

I have been looking everywhere but so far I've had no luck… To make matters more confusing, what the Quebeckers call 'pâte d’amande' is actually marzipan… :-S

I know its relatively easy to make, but for what I’m doing, the ready made stuff is really much more practical.

So – if you have any ideas where I can buy these products I’d really appreciate it. Companies that make this product are Odense, and Love n’ Bake, and it often comes in either a plastic sausage-like tube or sometimes even in cans.

Merci! Bonne journée!
