Thanks for all who posted to my Mohegan Sun question on Friday. We went on Saturday so thought I'd post our afterthoughts--"underwhelmed" would sum it up quite nicely; whoever said it wasn't a place for chowhounds was right! I felt like I was in a huge shopping mall. We decided on Tuscany for dinner, which did its best to create a nice restaurant ambience, buuut where I was seated, I could still see outside into the 'mall' area, and the constant roar of the fake waterfall during dinner didn't help matters! Food was okay though--for starters, we requested traditional bruschetta (not on the menu), and baked oysters. My boyfriend had gnocchi as a main (too dense) and I ordered the beef tenderloin, which was very good, but was too charred for my taste, even though it was medium-rare. Highlight, in my opinion, was the focaccia bread and spreads they bring in the beginning--olive tapenade and white bean puree. I could have just as easily filled up on that! I think Tuscany was the best choice there for the setting we wanted (otherwise would've gone for Bubba's, which you guys said was great!), but overall, a casino is a casino.
