Advice re: 36" Gas Range - what to buy?

merylnet | May 29, 201511:10 AM

My 35-year-old Wolf range, which came with the house, has stopped working once again (the stovetop works, but the oven doesn't light anymore). I'm tired of investing in it and ready to replace it. I've never bought an oven before, and I could really use suggestions. Can't afford to pay $7k for a luxury brand name. Can anyone suggest good options or let me know your experience with Bertazzoni, Smeg, Verona, and Capital? The latter makes higher-end ranges but there is one model (Capital Precision Series MCR366) that is within our price range. Looking for under $5k, 36", natural gas. I was all set to buy a Bertazzoni but then I read some reviews about how it's not good for baking. Many thanks for the advice!
