Thanks for the Advice

I started this as a response to "Re(2)Worth the trip to Lafitte's Landing"

It grew into a more general "thank you" for comments regarding off the beaten path places.

In our January and April trip this year, we finally started traveling some of the back roads in Louisiana. Absolutely loved it. I described some of these in our Feb response (turtle soup at Hymals (?spelling) and boudin at Best Stop in April).

We left Louisiana 36 years ago, still have family in Lafayette and Baton Rouge, and go home once a year. Actually went five times in the past 18 months due to weddings and a high school reunion.

We usually go straight from Point A to Point B to spend time with family. We also always sneak away for two nights in New Orleans.

Based on reading from this post, we are beginning to travel the back roads and stop at some of the little out of the way places for boudin, turtle soup, seafood gumbo and so on.

We also plan to do more of the same as we travel from KY to visit relatives in NC, AK, and LA. Our inspiration is from reading this board. I love to read past messages, just looking for interesting places.

Anyway, just wanted to make this sort of a general thank you.
