A16 (another long review)

Had lunch at A16 yesterday. I recommend the lunch if you do not want to deal with the hassle of reservations and crowds, but they do not have the full menu available.

In my opinion, A16 lived up to the hype and my expectations.
I ordered Red wine from Campania, Canellini Bean Bruschetta, Pizza Bianca, and Strawberry shortbread dessert .

The Canellini Bean Brushetta was very tasty, I've always wanted to try this type of Brushetta. The beans were moist and a little creamy, topped with Arugala and Pecorino Romano; all the flavors were well executed. But looking back, I should have ordered something different because the pitfall of ordering a carb rich dish, then eating a carb rich entree like pizza is carb overload.

Now for the Pizza Bianca - mozzarella, grana padano, oregano, garlic, arugula, olive oil.

It was the best Pizza I've ever had, the crust, the cheese, everything was just simply delicious.
I could really taste the quality ingredients: lush Mozzarella cheese, delicious crust, simple herbs, olive oil, I cannot say enough about it, other than I will rush back and try the Margherita.

A16 Pizza is in a league of its own, I've eaten Pizza all over the place and NOTHING can touch A16's Pizzas.

Dessert: Strawberry "Torte" I don't remember the exact name of this yummy dish so I will have to give a description. It was thinly sliced strawberries over a gingerbread crust then baked and glazed served with some kind've of Ricotta Salata. Another stellar dish full of flavor but with simple ingredients. The crust of the torte was the true star, god knows how much butter went into that little square of tasty crust hmmm...

Service: The hostess was really nice and cordial, the overall feel of the service was a concern for quality and customer satisfaction. My waiter was a little awkward, and I could not tell if he had a little attitude, or was just a "little awkward". Since the kitchen is exposed it adds to the action, but I could not help but notice a little drama in the kitchen staff that would fit in well with Rocco De Spirito's reality show "The Restaurant".
