40 people, private-ish room, NYE, downtown PDX

Please don't laugh.

I'm looking for a place with decent food, about $25-30 pp n/i bev or tip, downtown Portland (for ease of walking/quick cab to the downtown Marriott), a separate enough room so that 40 of us don't bother other diners, for a 50th wedding anniversary on New Year's Eve.

(Or a self-contained hotel / dining space would be grand. The McMenamins are all booked, of course.)

This is a time when I'm afraid logistics have to trump an exquisite dining experience. And Asian food is out, though Greek or middle eastern would probably go over well. As would French, NW, Italian and eclectic American. Unsure about Cuban-Caribbean-Mexican.

If we could bring our own wine and pay a decent corkage that would be a bonus, but I won't get too greedy yet! I appreciate whatever ideas you can toss my way.
