350 Fahrenheit no more? And a few words about Fresh

I tried to make a reservation at 350 Fahrenheit tonight, called the phone number on their website (416.929.2080) and got a fax signal. Have they changed their phone number and not updated the website, or have they closed doors?

Instead, we went to Fresh on Crawford. We started the meal with a California Classic salad (baby greens with pesto white beans, toasted pecans, hearts of palm, avocado and grape tomatoes) with wild ginger dressing (ginger, tamari, lemon, onion, rice vinegar and sunflower oil). The salad was very fresh and surprisingly delicious; the ingredients are not the ones that other restaurants usually use, therefore the flavor was new and exciting; the hearts of palm were very tender, simply perfect. This was a very nice suprise!

For mains I had the Mushroom Onion Burger (high protein almond, grain and tofu burger grilled and served on a toasted multigrain bun, with sauteed mushrooms and onions, honey mustard mayo, tomato, lettuce and alfafa sprouts). The texture of the toasted multigrain bun was very nice, adding interest to the fresh ingredients; the honey mustard mayo added a very nice flavor to the generous serving of lettuce and alfafa sprouts in the burger.

I had a Breathless fruit smoothie (mango, strawberry and banana). It was ok. You can really taste the natural fruit flavor, which was nice. In my personal opinion I think guava would go better than mango in this smoothie, but that is just my opinion.

The atmosphere was very lively, service was friendly, our server was very helpful and smiled a lot. We plan to return there in the future!

Peace,

Thom
