Cafe Life Rome by Joe Wolff is a WONDERFUL book about twenty two cafe's in Rome and five Gelateria.
As good for someone planning a trip to Rome as the armchair traveler. The excellent photos and writing made me feel like I had visited these places.
The Amazon link is below with some good editor and customer reviews Gets five stars.
Published this year, you'll learn about the specialty at the cafe and lots about the history of the cafe and the people who run it. It is an enjoyable read.
Some times the 3-4 pages describing the cafe is mostly about the cafe and area, hearing that Julius Ceasar hung out here (I exagerate). Sometimes it is about the owner. Sometimes it is about the food. It is all very enjoyable.
I found the book checking out a new cafe in SF which was selling it.
Hmmm. My birthday is coming up. A week in Rome dropping in on each of these cafes?
