Had 2 great pizzas lately. The first was Santarpio's, which everyone knows about, but the great thing about this trip was that my only two Santarpio's problems were cleared up. One: no more smoking = better tasting pizza. Two: the pizzas I had eaten there before had been too sloppy, but this time I got the pepperoni. The pizza held together much better, and Santarpio's sauce, which I already liked, was even better with the saltiness of the pepperoni. I think this was the best pepperoni pizza I've ever had.
The second was at Primo's Pizzeria on Broadway in Somerville. My friend ordered up a chicken cutlet pizza, and it was fantastic. The chicken tenders were just right, there was a lot of chicken per slice, and the flavor of sauce and cheese was terrific. I will definitely be ordering from Primo's more often.
I also had Pig's Pizza (Huntington Ave.) the other day, and was less impressed. My specialty duck/potato/special cheese pizza was ok, but nothing to get up in the night and write home about. And the pepperoni was average and VERY oily. Plus it was hotter than blue blazes inside that place, I was really uncomfortable eating.
