Hi Fellow Chowhounds!
I will going to Barcelona for two and 1/2 days prior to boarding a cruise and want to make the most of the visit. We are staying at the Hotel Condes De Barcelona, Passeig de Gracia, 73-75, Barcelona, 08008 Spain and have purchased a 2 day hop on hop off bus tour to see the city. I've never been to Barcelona, but I have been to Madrid and Marbella and ate mostly delicious seafood. I'm looking for any suggestions for both fine dining (hopefully not a place that needs reservations as we are leaving in 2 days - nothing like waiting until the last minute!) as well as tapas and anything that is a must try/regional/local favorite. Price is not a huge issue, though probably shouldn't spend more then $100 for two people on one meal. I've looked through the archives and some places that sound good/recommended include:
Restaurant Sant Pau
Quimet & Quimet
and for shopping/browsing; La Boqueria
Anything really good missing from this list? My only limitation is a dislike of Paella - we are open to most anything else. I would love a couple of recommendations along the bus route (we have the pass that goes through the 3 major tour routes) for breakfast/lunch and we are happy to take a taxi anywhere for dinner - but walking distance from the hotel would be great as well. If I haven't been specific enough, please let me know and I'll update. Thanks in advance for any and all help - this is a vacation I planned while very very sick (cancer) and is a huge celebration for me! Thanks again!
