My 2 cents on Bymark

Karen | Nov 1, 2005 08:46 PM

I had dinner today at Bymark with 2 other friends.
I'm not to great with the food description but I hope you get the main idea. I've heard so many good reviews on this restaurant that perhaps had me expecting tooo much.

First they didn't as us if we wanted sparkling or distilled water. They just gave us tap water.
We shared 3 apps which was the lobster risotto, frites and seared foie gras. The lobster risotto was good, very flavorful. The frites..the lobster tail meat made up for it. But the foie gras! we all thought it was a little raw? and very very bland.

For main, we had the 10 oz prime, venison and fillet mignon. The venison was great, very tender. But the prime, it was suppose to be medium rare but it tasted more like a little to medium. Yet, the fillet mignon was suppose to be medium rare..but almost half of it was rare. If it was bone in, they should perhaps mention that to. Almost half the meat was not edible because the meat could not be torn off the bone.

At the end we decided not to go for the dessert. We noticed that other tables didn't go for the dessert either but they received this complimentary dessert plate with mini sweets on it. Did their waitress (which was ours to) forget to give us one. When we left, we really regretted leaving such a big tip.
