159th St. in Orland

Mugs | Oct 3, 200311:01 PM

Stopped at Ricobene's on the south side of 159th St. east of 94th Ave. and had a very good slice of "lasagna pizza," a pan pizza filled with tasty ricotta, a pleasantly light change from the mass of stringy mozzarella that infests too many pan and deep-dish pizzas. The counterowman said tonight marked the reappearance of lasagna pizza after a summer hiatus.

Across the street from Ricobene's, on the north side of 159th between 93rd and 91st (aka Parkhill Dr.), is a long, generic-looking strip mall with this unusual mix of food shops: Jerusalem Bakery, Burrito Jalisco, Fontana's Subs, Rainbow Chinese Restaurant, Oriental Market, and Jewel of Siam. Is anyone familiar with any of these places?
