New bodegas/taquerias on 10th ave have been getting lots of press. I tried two this weekend. The first Tehuitzingo at 47th and 10th has a funky little taco bar in the corner. Tacos were pretty good. And very cheap. Pipian mole was great. BUT....
Yesterday I tried the place four doors or so down - Del
OH MY GOD!! Get there FAST! It is so good. Blows
the other place out of the water. I had the best taco
al pastor I have ever had in my life. Fresh,
bountiful, with this reddish sauce/mole. They even
wrap the tacos in a little paper wrap for ease. I
also had the barbacoa de chivo taco and a HUGE
huarache de carnitas. They serve tacos with a little
dish of lime, radishes and pickled jalapenos, just
like in Mexico. And a pretty silver serving dish of
three salsas. THREE! I also had the tamarindo agua
fresca. And the check came with a little candy!!
They are expanding to the space next door. People are
