The Mixilator is a cool app that generates random cocktail recipes based on answers to a series of multiple-choice questions. Start by choosing between “Aromatic-style” (i.e., Manhattan), “Sour-style” (i.e., margarita), or “Bloody Mary-style (veggie/meaty drinks)”; then choose the time of day you intend to drink, the strength of the drink, the level of preparation required, and whether you want it sweeter, more piquant, salty, etc. The drinks suggested are unusual (the names are also generated randomly) but appealing. We were told we should be partaking of “The Parakeet” this morning, which contains añejo tequila, Tokay wine, cinnamon-flavored vodka, and a dash of bitters. It doesn’t sound half bad.
