The Barefoot Contessa is back! Ina Garten just announced a brand new cookbook. Her eleventh collection of recipes is titled “Cook Like a Pro” and is an extension of her latest Food Network show of the same name.

In an interview with People Magazine, Garten said, “I think what makes this book unique is it’s so packed with really good information that will help people understand what they’re doing wrong so they can do it better.” Amen to that!

Not only does “Cook Like a Pro” contain some of her most amazing recipes but it also contains tips and tricks for preparation and food pairings. The book is likely to be as technique-heavy as the show, which is a great thing for those of us who can barely cut corn off the cob without spilling it all over the place.

Garten has spent almost 20 years writing cookbooks and helping amateur chefs up their kitchen game. Given her lengthy career, it’s hard to believe she hasn’t run out of recipes or advice to dish out. But in fact, the opposite is true.

“Over time it’s just gotten easier, and I have a running list of dishes and flavors that I like,” she told People. “For example, I love braised short ribs, and this time I’m braising them in a whole bottle of red wine so it’s got a deep, deep flavor. And then I paired them with grits, which I decided needed something interesting, so I put blue cheese in them. And it turns out the blue cheese and red wine are a really great combination.”

“Cook Like a Pro” is due to hit shelves Oct. 23. You can pre-order it now. Garten also just won a well-deserved James Beard Award for her television show, so kudos all around to our favorite contessa!
