Chefs and Celebrities Fuel Up at the Chef’s Classic Food and Wine Party
The celebrity chef and entertainer pairs complete holes 1 and 2. Chef Scott Conant may not be as strong on the course as he is in the kitchen, but he proved his cooking chops at the Chef’s Classic food and wine event at Bimbo’s in San Francisco. Sammy Hagar, Matt Nathanson, and Train performed to close out the evening.
Celebrity Chef and Entertainer Teams Hit Tee 1
Four chefs, four celebrities, nine holes, and one cook-off for charity. The competition takes place at the Olympic Club’s Cliffs Course in San Francisco, California. It is not only the oldest athletic club in the US, but this course is one of the most challenging par 3 courses in the world. Some of today’s top celebrity chefs are paired with well-known entertainers to hit the links, and the grills, as they compete in this golf and culinary showdown for charity.
The Final Stretch: Inaugural Chef’s Competition
The culinary competition continues. With only 15 minutes left to grill, the celebrity entertainers, with the help of their chef coaches, rush to finish their final dishes. The judges: Justin Tuck (Oakland Raiders), Matt Nathanson (Singer/Songwriter), Sammy Hagar, Jeff McInnis (Executive Chef from Root & Bone), and Rick Riess (Director of Montage Resort) choose the winner of the cooking competition.
Culinary Challenge: Chefs Coach as the Celebrities Grill
Janine Booth, Chef/Owner of Root & Bone in NYC, hosts as each two-person, chef-celebrity team will have to prepare their meal at the outdoor kitchen set up at hole 10. As part of the cooking competition’s rules, chefs can only coach their celebrity partner. They cannot touch, season, mix, or taste anything. Each celebrity will have only 30 minutes to grill a steak.
After Wrapping Holes 5 – 9, Cedric and Roy for the Win
Larry the Cable Guy keeps missing the hole by a hair, while Chef Roy Yamaguchi continues to play a strong game. The chef and entertainer partners play hole 5 through the 9th hole. At hole 10, the grills are firing up for the cooking portion of the competition, where the judges hungrily await the golfers.
