Strawberry Rhubard Iced Tea
Super simple recipe perfect as a summer reading companion.
Original rhubarb iced tea recipe from MarthaStewart.com
- 5 stalks of Rhubard
- 2 cups strawberries, cleaned and cut in half
- 4 bags of Black tea or the equivalent of loose tea in an infuser
1Place rhubarb, strawberries, and 5 cups of water in a large sauce pot and bring to a boil.
2Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour. Stir at your leisure, if you’re into that sort of thing.
3Add tea bags and steep for about 5 minutes.
4Dilute with water and add sugar to taste. I doubled the amount of liquid and added about 1 cup of sugar. If you like a stronger taste, add less water. Sweeter? Add more sugar. You get the picture.
5Chill in the fridge until cold.
6Serve over ice and enjoy!
7Over 21 addition: Add a shot of good whiskey to a glass of this to amp it up a bit. This can also be done with just rhubarb if you need to omit the strawberries. Same directions.
